These are two photos of actor George Clooney. The first is before editing, and the second is after editing. This is the first face editing I have done in Photoshop and I think it is the best work I have done all semester. The first thing I did to edit this photo was duplicating the layer, to work non-destructively. I then used the spot healing brush tool to remove any wrinkles or blemishes that were on the face. After that, I had to make the face symmetrical, to make it look as beautiful as it could. To do that, I used the ellipse marquee tool to grab his left eye, the left part of his nose, and the right side of his mouth. I copied each of these onto their own layer, and used the transform tools to reverse them to look the same as their opposite sides. I used a feathered eraser to smooth out the transition when I was done. Next, his eye colour was changed by selecting them with the quick select tool, and then I used the hue and saturation adjustment to change their colour. One thing I wish I had done though was use a brush to enhance the catchlights in his eyes. I also changed the colour of his hair and eyebrows, by selecting them and using the black and white colourize adjustment. I decided to experiment with this and turn his hair a vibrant colour. The final edit that I made was softening the skin. I did this by creating a new layer and making the blend mode on it "vivid light." I then inverted the layer with George on it, then added the filter "high pass." The final step to this was to add the filter "Gaussian blur" on a low setting. This gave me the foundation to start softening the skin. I created a layer mask on my "vivid light" layer, and then used the brush tool to go over any areas that needed softening. After I was done with that, my image was finished being edited. I am very proud of this work and I am impressed by how much can be changed through Photoshop.
